Josh Brookes "confident" ahead of superbike title decider

Josh Brookes has said his HM Plant Honda team is in good shape ahead of this weekend's MCE Insurance British Superbike (BSB) Championship showdown.

The rider lies second in the BSB standings as the final race at Oulton Park in Cheshire approaches, while his team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari is third and also has a shot at the title.

Brookes has 578 points following last month's race at Silverstone, while Kiyonari is four points further back. Tommy Hill of Worx Suzuki currently leads the championship on 589 points.

"We are feeling confident ahead of Oulton Park," said Australian star Brookes.

"All of us will be riding at the top of our game at Oulton Park, every point is so important," he added.

Motorbike insurance customers may have taken part in the recent Motor Cycle News readers' survey aimed at identifying the best-built bikes in the UK.

The Honda CBR600RR topped the poll with an overall satisfaction rating of 93 per cent, while Honda motorcycles occupied the first eight places in the survey's top ten.
