Luxury car brand to expand its Bespoke range

Manufacturer of opulent performance cars Rolls-Royce is expanding its Bespoke customisation service following increased demand.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, based in Goodwood, West Sussex, will increase its team for its trademarked personalisation service by up to 50 per cent.

The company has seen a significant rise in the market for its service, which is "encouraging" as Rolls-Royce has always been centred on personal customisation of customer's cars, according to Jolyon Nash, director of sales and marketing.

He added: "After more than 100 years at the very pinnacle of the automotive world, our Bespoke services are still very much in demand from customers."

Options range from tailored interiors and matching picnic sets, to specific and unique storage facilities for owners' favourite items. These specifications, along with more conventional requests like engine sizes and automotive parts, have helped to enhance Rolls-Royce as one of the world's most exclusive and premium brands.

Prestige car insurance policyholders may be aware of the recent centenary celebrations of the opulent manufacturer with its '100 years of the spirit of ecstasy' event at the company's offices in West Sussex.

Classic car devotees from the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club gathered at the headquarters in West Sussex and were met with VIPs and representatives from the three local surrounding parishes to mark the occasion.

Celebrations concluded with a cavalcade through the Goodwood Motor Circuit and included specimens from the entire Ghost and Phantom families provided by the motor company.

"The Spirit of Ecstasy is perhaps the most famous automotive icon, gracefully adorning the prow of Rolls-Royce models past and present," commented chief executive Torsten Muller-Otvos.

He added: "We were delighted to welcome our guests."

Many eccentrically customised examples of the manufacturer's early vintage models occasionally appear on the international market, demonstrating just how worldwide the brand's appeal is.

On August 19th, a highly unusual 1925 New Phantom model, customised to make hunting tigers easier, is due to appear at a Californian auctioneers and is expected to fetch between $750,000 and $1 million (£464,850 to £619,800). It also comes complete with its own Lantaka cannon.
