Modified cars not "affected by the credit crunch"

Motorists considering modified car insurance may be interested in the comment from Fast Car magazine.

The magazine's reviews editor, Ben Chandler, said many of the people who modify their cars are younger drivers who are not feeling the current economic slowdown.

"A lot of people who are into car modifying are aged 16 to 24 and most of them live at home with their parents so they're not really being affected by the credit crunch - if there is a credit crunch going on at the moment," Mr Chandler said.

Mr Chandler said it is possible to make money from car modifications, estimating modification worth £3,000 may result in an extra £1,000 when the vehicle is sold.
