The NEC Classic Car Show

Classic Car Show at the Birmingham NEC

Classic and retro car insurance policyholders are set to flock from far and wide to attend the upcoming Classic Car Show at the Birmingham NEC, which features a vast array of activities and shows that enthusiasts of all ages are able to enjoy.

Kicking off on November 11th, the three-day Footman James Classic Motor Show and Footman James Classic Motorbike show are set to feature the thrills and spills of being involved in the spectacular industries, while showcasing some of the finest vehicles in the world.

The event's sponsor Footman James is already gearing up for the proceedings after kicking off its first year as title show sponsor with a bang in 2010. The company, which insures more than 165,000 cars and motorbikes across the country, is set to pull out all the stops to wow crowds at the UK's biggest classic motoring show.

Last year, the organisation signed a three-year title sponsorship deal, representing the first in the Classic Motor Show's history, and vowed to build upon the storming success of last year's colourful and patriotic Best of British theme.

An awe-inspiring tribute to British heritage featured one of the UK's most iconic vehicles, the Mary Quant Mini, as well as a collection of Lambrettas and celebrated the statesman of British motoring, the prestigious Bentley brand.

A shining red Routemaster bus was also on hand for exploring by enthusiasts and patriots alike, with the vehicle also providing a home for Footman James's club specialists for the duration of the show.

This year, the Classic Motorshow will host a breathtaking display of more than 1,200 diverse cars, offering something for all levels of enthusiasm, from classic car owners, to collectors and general car lovers.

A vast array of vintage Bentleys, 1970s Fords, early Morrises and Maseratis, nimble British sports cars and huge American muscle cars will be on hand for the pleasure of visitors, as well as the chance to get together with likeminded people with a passion for petrol.

Regarded by many clubs as an end of season finale, some of the world's most prestigious car clubs will also be pulling out all the stops to impress attendees with their range of vintage models.

These groups are thought of as the lifeblood of the classic car scene, without whose enthusiasm there would be very few of these delectable vehicles running on the roads in these modern times.

Their attendance at the Classic Motor Show aims to promote marques, while securing new members, selling club memorabilia and for the fun and enjoyment that is the focal point of the Footman James proceedings.

Visitors who are interested in joining a troupe will be able to discuss possibilities with industry experts and receive any advice they like regarding buying, maintenance and restoration.

The Footman James Classic Car Show also brings together a huge number of UK-based and European companies, offering every conceivable product and service to owners and enthusiasts, making it the ideal event to attend if a rare part is required.

Mike Brewer and Edd China from hugely popular TV series Wheeler Dealers will host the Live Stage event, which boasts a full daily programme of activities including Edd's Challenge, live car demonstrations, expert guests, giveaways and game shows.

Free to all ticket holders, the event will also see some lucky visitors meet the TV personalities themselves, allowing them to pick the brains of two of televisions' most popular characters.

In addition, former world superbike and GP rider Pierfrancesco 'Frankie' Chilli and ex-Superbike World Champion and TT winner Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty are set to be reunited at the Footman James Classic Car shown on November 12th and 13th.

They will sign autographs for lucky fans at the Vintage Motorcycle Club stand, as well as appear on the Meet and Greet Stage where they will share memories, anecdotes and chat casually with audience members.

Adult ticket prices are £23.50 in advance or £25.50 on the door for the opening day of the thrilling event.
