Rolls Royce branches into South American market

Rolls Royce branches into South America

Classic vehicle manufacturer Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has confirmed it will enter the South American market for the first time in its history as part of a move that could be of interest to prestige car insurance policyholders.

Unveiling the plans today (October 24th), the brand revealed it is working with future dealers in Brazil and Chile, while chief executive Torsten Muller-Otvos is visiting the region to explore prospects and meet customers as well as media players.

"I am delighted to announce our plans for entry into the South American market," the company's head revealed.

The move is said to have been brought on after the two South African countries experiences impressive economic growth in recent times, along with increasing demand from customers looking to spend their earnings on luxury product.

"Rolls-Royce is growing very successfully in a number of fast-growing emerging markets and it is therefore appropriate that we have a strong presence in Brazil and Chile," Mr Muller-Otvos added.

Both Via Italia Group, headed by Francisco Longo and Inchcape Group, headed by Peter Aberle have been selected by the classic car manufacturer as the future dealers in Brazil and Chile respectively.

The move comes after Rolls-Royce reported a 41 per cent sales increase between January and September, compared with the same period of 2010, with ongoing demand for the Phantom and Ghost models.

In addition, the company enjoyed double-digit growth in all regions for the first nine months of 2011, with 80 per cent of Ghost customers new to the Roll-Royce brand.

Its success was marked with plans to expand the Rolls-Royce head office at Goodwood in West Sussex to improve services to prospective customers, as well as to contend with ongoing interest in Bespoke Ghost and Phantom models.

Meanwhile, Matt Wright's Crewe-build 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow will be on display at the Santa Pod Flame and Thunder event, which is set to take place on October 29th.
