A celebration of more than 50 years of classic heritage for the iconic Land Rover is set to take place at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire later this year.

The Eastnor Land Rover Show is to set against the backdrop of the beautiful Eastnor Castle and will see thousands of four-wheeled drive enthusiasts descending on the historic estate.

Event organiser Mark Woodward said: "I'm delighted to bring a new Land Rover show to Eastnor Castle. The two have very close links spanning over half a century and there isn’t a more suitable setting for such a show."

The classic Land Rover event will run from August 25th to 26th 2012 and is set to be a treat for all Land Rover enthusiasts. It will include a host of displays of classic vehicles from clubs across the UK and further afield, with a number of rare and prototype models also to be included.

In addition, visitors will be able to head along to the event's Retail Village and Autojumble, where they can talk to other Land Rover enthusiasts, pick up parts and get advice on their own restoration projects.

Furthermore, the Land Rover Experience will be taking attendees on an off-road tour of the Eastnor estate, with visitors able to take their own 4x4s off road as part of a convoy, giving them the chance to put their driving skills to the test.

Access to the grounds is a special treat for visitors, as Eastnor is the place where the company still comes to fine-tune its new models before they are put into production.

Eastnor Castle was built between 1812 and 1820 and is the present family home of James Hervey-Bathurst, the grandson of Arthur Somers-Cocks, 6th Baron Somer.

Eastnor Castle is a grade I-listed building and despite its relatively modern construction, it was built to resemble the castles of Medieval England.
