20 Classic Car Clubs Attend Donington Track Event

More than 20 car clubs will be represented at the showpiece event, with enthusiasts from across the UK heading to the Donington track to share their love of classic vehicles.

It is set to take place on Saturday May 5th and Sunday May 6th 2012, with registered clubs able to take advantage of two-for-one ticket deals in the run-up to the racing weekend.

The event first took place this year and was hailed as a great success, with more than 300 classic cars taking to the track and on display for fans of motorsport both past and present.

A host of top manufacturer's groups have already been confirmed, as Morgan Sports Car Club will be in attendance, as will Porsche Club GB, the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club, the TR Register, the Bentley Drivers Club, Club Lotus, Ferrari Owners' Club and Jaguar Drivers' Club, with fans of the vehicles invited to head along and check out many of the classic models that will be on display.

Duncan Wiltshire of Historic Promotions, organiser of the Donington Historic Festival, commented: "First and foremost, we want to provide the very best racing, with truly thrilling on-track action featuring historic cars from the most evocative eras of the sport.

"Secondly, we want to do this at a price which club members and motorsport fans can readily afford."

Admission will cost £18 in advance and £25 on the day for visitors, with under-16s getting in for free. Furthermore, anyone who wants to purchase a full-weekend pass will be able to do so for just £30.
