AC Cobra to be celebrated at Goodwood

The 2012 Goodwood Revival is set to welcome enthusiasts for the AC Cobra, as the event is planning a special attraction.

Marking the 50th anniversary of the iconic vehicle, the event's organisers are putting on a special 45-minute all-Cobra race, set to feature a wide array of "historically-significant competition Cobras".

Set to be held on September 14th to 16th next year, Goodwood Revival 2012 is also hoping to have the designer behind this important Anglo-American classic at the track on the day - Carroll Shelby.

The race promises to be a true spectacle, with the grid set to be made up of 30 AC Cobras and their derivatives, including a number of "aerodynamic Cobra-based coupes".

It is an event that classic car lovers flock to every year, with 2011 no exception, as it looks to showcase some of the finest vehicles from yesteryear and relive the glory days of Goodwood Motor Circuit.
