Business Insurance - Business buyers advised of new mobile security

Companies operating in the haulage or fleet sectors, or even those that simply have a large number of commercial vehicles on the roads, have been advised of a new mobile security system that could help provide managers with increased peace of mind.

The new Cobra UK mobile CCTV monitoring system Global Live is designed to add extra security for drivers and passengers, as well as providing a deterrent against criminal behaviour, including vandalism, load interception and theft.

Set to be showcased at this year's Commercial Vehicle (CV) Show, the technology includes in-vehicle CCTV and records all activities taking place in and around it, meaning businesses can always be up to date with the status of their vehicle.

Data collected by the device is streamed live via a 3G connection to operators, with the technology coupled with GPS tracking to ensure owners know the whereabouts of their vehicles at all times, even if they are stolen, ensuring criminals can be tracked down more easily and apprehended.

Options for those interested in the system include the ability to do away with self-monitoring and instead have professionals at Cobra UK take over the role, meaning businesses wishing to boost the security of their fleets do not have to spend hours poring over video footage to maintain the security of their vehicles.

The CV Show is taking place at the NEC in Birmingham from April 24th to 26th and will include an array of exhibits aimed at boosting the security of fleet vehicles.

Attendees will also be able to get a glimpse at the latest light and heavy commercial vehicle offerings from manufacturers across the globe, with Citroen one such company that will be highlighting its new van offerings for firms.

The vehicle manufacturer will be showcasing its new Berlingo and Dispatch models, which have both been updated for 2012.
