Business Insurance - Drivers can get Homer Simpson on TomTom iPhone app

Drivers can now get the voice of Homer Simpson on their TomTom devices, thanks to a brand new iPhone application.

The infamous Simpsons dad can become an encouraging co-pilot after a new partnership between Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products (FCP) and Locutio Voice Technologies means motorists can get a celebrity voice on their mobile phone GPS for the first time ever.

Available in the US, the new product features Homer's catchphrase of 'D'Oh!' as well as the latest maps and navigation systems, which have the added bonus of being updated and corrected by TomTom users every day.

Alain Pakiry, senior vice-president for marketing at TomTom, said; "Homer's skills will help keep drivers and fans entertained in a light hearted and familiar way. It's exciting to have him on board!"

Meanwhile, Autotrader has released a new mobile phone app that enables users to browse full listings of cars and bikes for sale near them, allowing them to search for their perfect vehicle and contact the seller directly.
