About the Porsche 968

Porsche 968 Sports performance car

The Porsche 968 was a restyled evolution of the 944 design. As Wikipedia underlines, the front of the car resembled the top-of-the line 928, with its exposed pop-up headlamps and front bumper. 

While the exterior of the car was rounded and smoothed, the interior was kept largely unchanged from previous incarnations of the 944 S2.

Reading through the leading motoring magazines there seems to be general agreement that the most exiting iteration of the Porsche 968 was the lighter, more track-focused version; the Club Sport.

The Club Sport was slim-lined, speed-focused version of the ordinary car, with fripperies as rear seats, sound deadening, and air conditioning removed.

It also had lighter, more figure hugging Recaro bucket seats. The 50kg saved, made it lighter and more fun.  And it was cheaper than the ordinary specification. 

The Porsche 968 is now relatively rare – Porsche producing less than 13,000 during its production run and models such as the Club Sport are even rarer.
