Classic car insurance customers 'should find code useful'

The Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair could make life easier for classic car insurance customers searching for a reputable garage, it has been suggested.

According to Motor Codes - the group in charge of administering the initiative - vehicle owners can now tell which businesses are committed to providing customers with the best possible experience.

It explained those companies that have signed up to the code are obliged to offer a fair service, transparent pricing and a straightforward complaints procedure.

Motor Codes has set up an online search tool that allows drivers to find any subscribing garages in their area.

Director Chris Mason said there were a number of reasons why it made sense for vehicle owners to opt for such a business, including the fact any complaints would be dealt with swiftly.

He stated: "There is a freephone consumer advice line which aims to resolve the caller's issue immediately and if needed, the complaint can be progressed through the free conciliation service."

Meanwhile, the group recently voiced its support for the Motor Trader Awards.
