Ford Transit lends a hand to Combined Services Disabled Ski Team

A Ford Transit has been lent to the Combined Services Disabled Ski Team for the second year in a row.

The motor will carry team members and their equipment as they head to the Stubai glacier in Austria for training.

Lt Col Mike Quaile, deputy chairman of the Combined Services Disabled Ski Team, said it is of huge importance for the group to have reliable transport.

He added: "The Transit will allow us to move them and all their bulky equipment around the Alps and is an absolute lifeline for the team ... just invaluable."

What's more, the majority of team members are either single or double amputees injured during the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan, Mr Quaile pointed out.

Another vehicle from the manufacturer that may come in handy is one of the 100 special edition Ford Transit SportVans set to be coloured in red livery to celebrate the manufacturer's 45th year as Britain's best selling van.
