Hayabusa celebrates the big 1-0

The Suzuki Hayabusa is celebrating its tenth birthday - and potential motorcycle insurance policyholders may have witnessed celebrations at this weekend's Straightliners Championship.

Fans of all skills and experience were able to chance their arm at drag racing during the Run What You Brung event at the Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire.

Competitions took place after Suzuki-run classes, with motorcycle journalist Adam Child clocking in on one of the legs at 10.01 seconds and 143mph.

Both standard and modified Hayabusas were given out as prizes to some of the 500 riders that were in attendance.

Marketing manager George Cheeseman thanked attendees and said: "We were able to join with out customers to celebrate a decade of the Busa in its spiritual home - the drag strip. Here's to another ten years!"

Fans of motorcycle racing may want to catch next month's Grand Prix Macau, which will also be celebrating its tenth anniversary.
