One unlucky employer is facing up to a steep rise in van insurance costs after a worker's fiancée rolled his van and personal belongings into a harbour following a row.
The BBC has reported that Emma Thomason of Whitehaven pushed Jason Wilson's van off a ramp at the marina of the coastal town in the aftermath of an argument in a local pub.
The harbour then had to be partially drained of water so that the van could be salvaged in a 20-hour operation.
An unrepentant Ms Thomason was then taken into police custody, according to reports.
Mr Wilson's boss, Graham Wilson (no relation), revealed that he was more concerned about the potential pay-out.
"I'll be asking Jason for an explanation but he's not to blame. She has her own car - why didn't she load his stuff into that and drive it into the marina? I just hope the insurance company is prepared to pay out," he commented, according to the BBC.
The harbourmaster has reported that the environmental damage caused by diesel leaking from the van is unlikely to represent a long-term problem.
