A study by Danish lifestyle consultant Mette-Marie Linding found eating sensibly could significantly improve a person's response times and reduce their stopping distances.
In light of the findings, Volvo Trucks in Holland is introducing health care as a module in its driver training.
Spokesman Charles Engelaar commented: "Since there is a strong link between food and traffic safety, we felt that it was important to put health firmly on the agenda."
