Following recent snowfall in parts of the country, motorists are being advised to ensure their tyres are safe.
TyreSafe is warning that with more wintry weather forecasted, drivers could be putting themselves - and potentially their performance car insurance premiums - at risk by having faulty tyres.
It states that those returning to work this week could be faced with difficult road conditions and cites findings by Motorpoint that show half of drivers do not regularly check their tyre pressure.
The study also found that only one-third of motorists are aware of their tyre tread depth.
In relation to the findings, the firm stated: "These results are of particular concern, as it clearly shows that motorists are simply not prepared for the colder weather."
Motorists with dodgy tyres could also find themselves liable for penalty points and a fine, in addition to a potential performance car insurance claim.
