High Performance Car Insurance - Tips to encourage greener driving

Tips to encourage greener driving

Eco-friendly drivers, potentially including some high performance car insurance holders, may want to follow a number of tips to reduce the CO2 output of their vehicle.

According to a new report from the government's transport advisory group Commission for Integrated Transport, there are various methods which can help motorists reduce their carbon footprint, such as ensuring that tyres are filled to their optimum pressure.

Limiting the use of roof racks and air conditioning systems can also be beneficial, while drivers should use the pedals sensibly, the report suggests.

Commenting on the findings, Alec Murray, chairman of the Retail Motor Industry Federation, said: "It makes sense that the reduction of vehicle CO2 emissions goes hand-in-hand with encouraging motorists to drive their cars in a way that helps the environment."

He added that while the motoring industry was striving to become more eco-friendly, benefits could also be achieved by drivers employing good motoring techniques.

High Performance car Insurance holders looking to become even greener may want to consider investing in a vehicle which generates low CO2 emissions, as this could also help them save on costs such as congestion charging.
