High Performance car insurance holders may have been among those drivers recently penalised by police in Oxfordshire for exceeding the speed limit.
Officers teamed up with representatives from Oxfordshire County Council's to crack down on the dangerous drivers over a two-hour period, the Oxford Mail repors.
They checked drivers travelling along the A329 between Stadhampton and Little Milton because the road has a particularly poor accident history.
Over the past six years, the road has been the site of 12 injury collisions and numerous other incidents.
Six of the 12 crashes were fatal and excessive speed is thought to have been a factor in some of the cases.
Those found travelling just above the 50 mph limit were given the choice to have the fixed penalty fine or receive road safety advice. In comparison, very fast drivers who may have been risking more than a performance car insurance claim were not given this opportunity.
