Despite congestion charges and higher road taxes, Londoners are seemingly not ready to end their love affair with the high performance cars.
Sales of high performance vehicles in the capital have risen by 9.4 per cent compared to last year, according to Experian.
There was also a rise of 5.6 per cent in the sales of luxury vehicles in the London, the figures showed.
Kirk Fletcher, managing director of Experian's Automotive division, said: "It is becoming increasingly expensive to own a larger engine car, especially in London, but it has failed to deter Londoners from buying this vehicle type.
"It was also interesting to see that super minis became the most popular selling type of used vehicle in terms of volume, increasing in sales in most regions."
Also, sales of used cars that run on diesel have risen by 13.3 per cent, the Experian research found.
