According to the Northampton Chronicle and Echo, residents of Semilong have complained that drivers are taking risks on the roads, especially in relation to parking rules.
Local people made their views known at a recent meeting of the Joint Action Group and officers have responded by pledging to put patrols in force to crack down on law-breakers, some of whom may risk a high performance car insurance claim.
Sergeant Paul Valentine said: "We are responding and listening to residents' issues."
He added that by implementing traffic enforcement moves, local residents and pedestrians were likely to benefit, while the roads should be clearer to allow for easier movement of emergency services vehicles.
Other motorists who may cause chaos on the streets through speeding are also being clamped down upon by police in Cambridgeshire and York.
