Sports car insurance customers with a penchant for MG may be interested to know that the brand's designer has been honoured at his former home in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
A blue plaque has been erected in memory of the sports car designer, marking the third of 11 plaques to be unveiled in the town in commemoration of people who have helped shape its history.
Cecil Kimber, who lived in Heaton Moor, developed a love for sports cars when he bought his first motorbike at the age of 18.
"It's fantastic that we are unveiling this plaque in the week when production of the new MG has started again at Longbridge," said Stockport Heritage Trust member Kevin Dranfield.
"The plaque is important because Kimber made such a big contribution to the motor industry," he added.
Stockport residents voted for Mr Kimber to be commemorated and any interested sports car insurance customers can attend a walking tour guide of the plaques from next week.
