Sports cars might come no better than the new Mercedes-Benz F 800 Style, which the manufacturer claims is built with a pioneering green design.
Two alternative drive systems - the Plug-in Hybrid or fuel cell - could provide the sort of fuel economy that sports car insurance seekers are looking for.
Overall, the carmaker describes the model as "efficiency paired with elegance", which may suit style-conscious drivers down to the ground.
Dr Thomas Weber, who is responsible for group research and Mercedes-Benz car development, said that the company is committed to "reconciling our responsibility for the environment with practical customer utility in a fascinating automobile".
In addition, Dr Weber noted that the F 800 Style combines safety and comfort with a top level of performance.
Meanwhile, the company's Driving Academy at Mercedes-Benz World is helping motorists prepare for the challenges posed by adverse driving conditions, especially in the cold winter months.
