Planned changes in Formula 1 have been given the support of Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo.
In news that may interest drivers on the lookout for sports car insurance, the motorsport chief suggested that it is important that Formula 1 remains a fascinating spectacle.
He stated that he is "very much in favour of qualifying without full tanks like in the past and the choice of tyres".
Mr di Montezemolo went on to add: "This is a start, with the collaboration from all of us."
He also claimed that now is a period of renewal for the motorsport, with factors such as a high standard of technology and a stable rules system taking on increasing importance.
Fans of such sporting extravaganzas may also be aware that the Ferrari 458 Italia picked up two BBC Top Gear Magazine awards at the end of 2009.
The motor won the Supercar of the Year and Car of the Year prizes.
