The first leg of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup is due to take place at Silverstone on September 12th, giving sports car fans an opportunity to feast their eyes on some unique models.
As part of the spectacle, two Audi R15 TDI motors are due to take part in the 1,000-kilometre showpiece.
The event will mark the first time since 1992 that there has been an international racing series for Le Mans prototypes.
As well as the Silverstone date, this year will also see races at Road Atlanta and Zhuhai, giving driving enthusiasts far and wide the opportunity to witness some adrenalin-fuelled contests.
In order to compete at an optimum level of performance in the upcoming race, the R15 TDI has been modified as a means of enhancing its aerodynamics.
Drivers might be interested to learn that the manufacturer recently praised the motor for its "impressive reliability and fuel efficiency".
