Panesar 'could be on the look out for fast car insurance'
05 Sep 2008
England spin bowler Monty Panesar may well be looking for fast car insurance today after picking up a new Jaguar XKR sports model earlier in the week.
Panesar was the first Sikh to play for the England cricket team and firmly established himself as a fans' favourite after a series-winning display against Pakistan in 2006.
Commenting on his new car, the cricketer said: "I've always loved Jaguars because of their image and heritage, but I chose the XKR because, to me, it has everything.
"It looks sexy and is amazing to drive," he added.
The partnership between Jaguar and Panesar will see the manufacturer help out with the bowler's efforts to raise money for his favourite charity, Movers and Shakers.
Movers and Shakers is an organisation dedicated to collecting funds to cure Parkinson's disease and Jaguar will host a private dinner with Panesar which will be auctioned to raise money.
Jaguar was founded in 1922 by Sir William Lyons.
