This week, the manufacturer is unveiling the second generation of the mid-engined Boxster roadster at the Los Angeles Motor Show.
According to the company, the highlight of the car is the new flat-six boxer engine - which offers more power and greater fuel-efficiency.
It claimed the performance and economy of the vehicle is also helped by the Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe - the new double-clutch gearbox.
This feature is available as an option on both the Boxster and the Boxster S.
Motorists in the UK will be able to get their hands on the new model from February 21st 2009.
The Boxster is priced from £34,420 and the Boxster S from £41,250.
