High performance car insurance customers may welcome news that the Lotus Carlton has been voted the number one Vauxhall vehicle of all time.
Voted for by drivers of the manufacturer's models, the motor saw off competition from other favourites, such as the Calibra and the Cavalier.
Commenting on the result, the website that conducted the poll said: "The Lotus Carlton was a technical tour de force for Vauxhall and garnered immense press respect for its power, performance and dynamics."
When it was first launched, the vehicle was the fastest four-door production model on the road.
Able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds, the car had a top speed of 176 mph.
The same survey found the favourite Vauxhall model from the last five years was the Monaro, which first appeared in UK showrooms in 2004.
With a 5.7-litre engine, the vehicle was described as "a rear-wheel drive muscle car".
Meanwhile, people looking to buy a Vauxhall at the moment will benefit from the 2.5 per cent cut in VAT, the manufacturer has announced.
