The V12 Zagato and One-77 will make their US debuts as the thoroughbreds tour California as part of the state's famous Monteray automotive week, Aston Martin has confirmed.
Barely months after the unveiling of the Zagato concept car at the Villa D'Este Concours in Italy, Aston Martin authorised a limited production run for 2012 following huge interest from its dedicated customer base.
Sports car insurance policyholders will no doubt be among those witnessing the Zagato's first official appearance next week (Wednesday August 17th) at the McCall's Motorworks Revival, where the bespoke and exclusive car will be celebrated.
Meanwhile, not to be outdone, the One-77 is billed as the culmination of the technological and performance innovations the iconic British performance car brand has garnered so far, which will be showcased at the exclusive Aston Martin Estate in the hills above Monterey Bay.
"We are very excited about the programme this year including the debut of the V12 Zagato," explained Julian Jenkins, vice president of Aston Martin the Americas.
He added: "We look forward to welcoming current owners, new customers and automotive enthusiasts to share our celebrations at The Aston Martin Estate."
However, the brand is not completely centred on gas-guzzling performance vehicles. The manufacturer recently surprised fans and industry pundits alike with the unveiling of its new hand-crafted eco-city car.
The Aston Martin Cygnet, the marque's first foray into the world of city-cars, made its debut at the fifth Bridgestone Eco-Rally on July 31st with a miles-per-gallon tally of 56.5 and total carbon emissions at just 116 grams per kilometre.
One of the drivers, Aston Martin's regular racing tester Darren Turner, said ahead of the race: "It's a great city car, easy to manoeuvre and park and a lot of fun to drive."
With the Cygnet, Aston Martin looks to be increasing its total market share in European car sales at the same time as Korean brand Kia, which today (August 15th) unveiled its new Picanto car. Kia is estimating the city-car market will increase from 2.4 to 3.3 million sales in Europe between now and 2012.
Meanwhile, for those who happen to be in California next week, the Aston Martin Estate will be open from August 18th to 20th for the unveiling of the company's latest motors.
