A former Superbike champion and a TV presenter have given their backing to a new scheme which could see a drop in motorcycle insurance claims in the UK.
Steve Parrish and Louise Brady will team up with safety experts from the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) to offer advice to bikers on the Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS) at the 2008 Motorcycle and Scooter Show.
The ERS is a training package designed to equip riders with the skills to avoid accidents.
Commenting on the initiative, Ms Brady said: "The Enhanced Rider Scheme offers an opportunity to iron out bad habits and keep you safer on the roads, as well as helping you get more from your bike."
She also pointed out bikers who signed up for the scheme may end up qualifying for cheaper motorcycle insurance.
This year's Motorcycle and Scooter Show is due to take place at the Birmingham NEC between November 28th and December 7th.
In other news, the DSA announced earlier this autumn the introduction of the new practical motorcycle test had been delayed until March 2009.
