Contributing £2.7 billion to the economy and employing 62,000 people, the motorcycle industry has recently been given more support from the government.
Prime minister Gordon Brown said last week it was important for the country's sector to be strong and keep growing.
His comments might mean getting an online bike insurance quote is easier and more competitively priced in future.
Mr Brown was asked by Conservative MP Anne Main about driver testing and told since changes to the exam came into effect there has been a decline of 62 per cent in the number being taken.
He replied by saying the government would investigate the figures.
One organisation particularly pleased to hear his remarks was the Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCI), which was established nearly 100 years ago.
"We work tirelessly with government to create an environment in which motorcycling can flourish and welcome the prime minister's support," said chief executive officer Steven Kenward.
