Motorcycle insurance premiums to fall thanks to scheme
14 Aug 2008
Bikers who take part in the new Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS) could be celebrating cheaper motorcycle insurance following an agreement between the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), the Motorcycle Industry Association and some insurers.
The ERS has been developed to encourage and teach bikers to be safer on the roads, thus reducing cases of serious accidents.
Under the scheme - which was designed to meet the Government Motorcycling Strategy - motorcyclists can qualify for a certificate which would entitle them to discounts when arranging insurance with some companies.
Those who do not achieve the DSA Certificate of Competence - Enhanced Rider Bonus would then receive training to improve their skills.
Yesterday, TyreSafe urged motorbike riders to check the condition of their tyres and wheels to avoid accidents.
From performance, prestige and modified cars to classic and imported vehicles, vans, motorcycles and scooters, Performance Direct provides value for money insurance cover, often when other companies can't help.
