Motorcycle insurance customers in Northampton may welcome news there is to be an off-road bike track built in the town.
The Northampton Safer Stronger Partnership has agreed to fund the facility which is being set up in a bid to tackle anti-social riding.
According to authorities in the area, there have been a number of complaints made regarding the use of off-road bikes in inappropriate areas.
Despite the fact a location for the track has not yet been chosen, the police reported they have received a number of offers of help.
They stated the success of the scheme would depend on the support of the local community, adding they still required extra individuals to offer their time and expertise.
PC Duncan Faulkner explained: "We are looking for people who are passionate about motorbikes and off-road motorcycling to volunteer to help establish and run the track."
In other news, two officers in Northampton recently took delivery of quad bikes so they can reach areas inaccessible by car.
