MCIA urges people to try two wheels

The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) is using an important event in the biking calendar to encourage more people to take to two wheels.

National Motorcycle Week 2009 is being held between July 12th and 18th - and the message of this year's campaign is Get More Out of Life.

MCIA claimed the event is the perfect opportunity for people who have been toying with the idea of getting a licence to actually go and do it.

In addition to this, the group is using the occasion to highlight the general benefits of motorcycling.

The organisation said biking has a number of advantages over other forms of transport, including the fact it is more fun and offers more convenience.

Commenting on National Motorcycle Week, MCIA spokesperson Sheila Rainger stated: "It is … the time for riders to think about how to get more out of their machine, whether that means planning a biking holiday or taking some training to improve their skills."

Meanwhile, people who are inspired to trade in four wheels for two as a result of the campaign may find they can secure cheap motorcycle insurance online.
