Bespoke deals increase for Rolls-Royce customers

The number of Rolls-Royce customers who took a bespoke vehicle option when purchasing the company's Ghost model in 2011 stands at more than half, it has been revealed.

According to the luxury vehicle manufacturer's data, 56 per cent of Ghost and Ghost Extended Whell-base models featured bespoke features unique to the client, highlighting an overall trend for the firm of its customers looking to make their Rolls-Royce their very own.

"It is always our goal to exceed our clients' highest expectations and fulfil their innermost desires," said Torsten Muller-Otvos, Rolls-Royce chief executive officer. "With highly bespoke Phantom and Ghost models, we are able to achieve this.

"The passion with which our bespoke craftspeople create these beautiful cars is reflected in some truly outstanding examples delivered across the globe last year."

Unique features that have been added to models over the last 12 months have included individual paint palettes, coach lines and tread plates, as well as more specialised additions, such as champagne sets, humidors and even built-in picnic cabinets.

Rolls-Royce did not only see this increase in its Ghost range however, with the Phantom model also seeing an increase in bespoke purchases from 60 per cent in 2010 to 88 per cent last year.

The news follows last month's announcement by business minister Mark Prisk that the new Goodwood manufacturing plant of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in West Sussex is set to be expanded further in 2012, with the opening of its Assembly Hall and Surface Finish Centre that began construction in December and aims to be fully operational by the end of spring.

Mr Prisk commented: "The company's hand-built luxury models are flag bearers for British manufacturing and we should join Rolls-Royce in celebrating this great British success story."
