Britons taking a more environmentally-friendly attitude towards their holiday plans are increasingly turning to driving holidays instead of plane travel it has been revealed.
A survey by AA Personal Loans has found that more than one in ten Britons are now aiming to travel round Europe by car, with sales set to increase as a result.
Around 20 per cent of this figure said they were considering buying a more comfortable car in order to make such trips more pleasurable.
Many motorists could well now choose to purchase models from abroad, along with imported car insurance, due to many Japanese vehicles being renowned for their accommodating design, along with the potential for buying a hybrid vehicle.
"AA Deals on Wheels reports have shown a consistent increase in the demand for more environmentally friendly vehicles over the last year.
