Police urge motorists to obey the law

Road users in Humberside who do not want to end up searching for convicted driver insurance may be well advised to make sure they stick to the letter of the law.

Police in the region have reminded motorists they are still running Operation Achilles – which utilises high-tech equipment to keep an eye on the area's highways and byways.

The project was launched in a bid to reduce the number of bikers hurt in traffic accidents across Hull, the east riding of Yorkshire and north-east Lincolnshire.

Officers involved in the campaign attempt to ensure both riders and other road users are behaving responsibly by recording and tracking their progress.

The force expressed a particular determination to crack down on speeding drivers.

Meanwhile, motorists who have previously been caught travelling too quickly - and have received points on their licence as a result - may find they can still secure reasonably priced insurance by searching online.
