The Silverstone Classic event has become the third UK classic car showpiece to embrace the 50th anniversary of the MGB brand with a special showcase of what is arguably one of the UK's most-loved sports car manufacturers.
Running from July 20th to 22nd, the event is set to provide the perfect backdrop for the celebrations, with more 7,000 classic vehicles to be displayed during the course of the weekend, while over 800 historic cars will be taking part in races.
"It's shaping up to be a tremendous year for the B," confirmed MG Car Club general manager Julian White. "Each of the three events offers MGB owners something different and I know many enthusiasts will be keen to attend all three celebrations."
The news follows a recent announcement by the organisers of the Silverstone Classic show that this year's showpiece is to have a new sponsor - motoring organisation the AA.
In total, more than 80,000 visitors attended the event in 2011 and organisers are keen to add more spectacle and fun as the festival gets bigger and better in 2012.
