Classic car insurance customers who have felt embarrassed about calling for roadside assistance to help with basic repairs may have been worrying needlessly, if comments from the RAC are anything to go by.
According to the breakdown service provider, the majority of its call-outs are as a result of "flat tyres and flat batteries".
However, the organisation said it did occasionally receive more unusual requests.
Erik Nelson from the group said weirder call-outs could range from "finding an alligator in the vehicle you are trying to rescue" to "rescuing a kitten locked inside a car".
A recent study by the RAC found 31 per cent of patrols had come across amorous couples when attending a breakdown.
Some 39 per cent of those questioned also said they had played a key role in helping a motorist get to an important event, such as a wedding.
Meanwhile, one RAC patrol revealed they had helped deliver a baby in the course of their duties.
