Aston Martin is considering building its new four-door Rapide saloon outside the UK.
This would be the first time in nearly a century that an Aston Martin car has not been built in Britain.
The maker of classic cars said that the decision to build the Rapide overseas could be one of the outcomes of an ongoing feasibility study, according to the Press Association.
A spokesman for the manufacturer said: "The Rapide is the epitome of Aston Martin's low-volume, high-technology approach, the synergy of modern methods and materials with traditional skills to create a new form of craftsmanship for the 21st century."
Aston Martin boasts of its ability to complement hand-finished and expert detail with the "ultra-modern" production line at Gaydon in Warwickshire.
The Rapide is due to go on sale sometime in 2009, according to Aston Martin.
