Classic car insurance news: A classic car which was among the first made in Manchester is to get a new lease of life by a factory owner.
John Williams, a classic car fan, is restoring the only remaining 1904 Imperial Light car, which is currently on display at the Museum of Science and Industry, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Mr Turner told the publication that restoring the classic car would take hundreds of hours as it had not run for more than 25 years.
Spokesperson for the museum, Nick Forder, said: "We are acutely aware this is the last known model and we have to be very careful with it."
He added that classic cars were not particularly practical in the past and would have been used more as an impressive toy than as a means of transport.
Meanwhile, Manchester is also famous for being the place in which Charles Stewart Rolls and Frederick Henry Royce first met each other after convening at the Midland Hotel to view a car.
