£14m classic car on display in Bradford
17 Jul 2008 £14m classic car on display in Bradford

Fans of classic cars may be interested in seeing a one-off Jaguar racing car worth an estimated £14 million scheduled to drive through Bradford this Saturday.

The XJ13 will be exhibited as part of the annual two-day Bradford Classic together with its driver Norman Dewis.

Mr Dewis was driving the car in 1971 when it crashed on the Mira test track at 140 mph, after previously breaking the lap record at 161 mph.

The classic Jaguar was originally designed for the Le Mans 24-hour race in the 1960s. It is believed this is the first time the car has driven through a city in the UK.

A talk will be given by Mr Dewis on Saturday evening about his life with the XJ14, but before that motorists can see cars with lower classic car insurance premiums at the Bradford Classic.

Competition and performance classic cars will also be on display on Sunday.

From performance, prestige and modified cars to classic and imported vehicles, vans, motorcycles and scooters, Performance Direct provides value for money insurance cover, often when other companies can't help.
