Motorway Tolls
Many motorways in central Europe have pay-as-you-go tolls. Toll charges vary, as do payment procedures. The following examples are
for typical journeys in France. The payment procedure here involves either taking a ticket on entering and paying for the distance
travelled on exit or paying a set amount on leaving the motorway. Payment can be made with a credit card or cash. Automatic booths
require cash, so it's always useful to have plenty of change ready.
