British Airways has claimed it is keen to improve its green credentials.
The carrier said some companies were starting to travel less in a bid to be more environmentally-friendly, but added it was keen to explain to such businesses exactly what it was doing as an airline to minimise its impact on the planet.
Head of UK and Ireland sales Richard Tams said before the recession the company had made some progress in this area.
"We were talking to a lot of corporate clients about how we manage the carbon imprint of what we do as an airline and what we are doing to try and minimise that imprint," he explained.
The group concluded by saying it hopes to keep up the momentum gained on environmental issues before the economic downturn because it is an important topic.
Meanwhile, firms that do have to fly a lot may find they can get a good deal on business travel insurance online.
