A Renault car might appeal to customers this year.
The deal means that the short-term rental company will pre-order 500 Renault electric vehicles, which will be delivered in large urban centres across Europe at the end of 2011.
Commenting on the developments, Rafael Girona, chief operating officer at Europcar, suggested that the agreement is "a decisive point in bringing electric vehicles into the rental market".
The news may be welcomed by business car insurance seekers who are keen to make a number of cost savings in terms of fuel and taxation when planning their commute.
Recently, the carmaker unveiled four electric models at the Frankfurt Motor Show, including the Fluence Z.E. - a four-door family saloon - and the small city car known as the Twizy Z.E.
Corporate car customers might also want to check out the new Megane Coupe-Cabriolet, which the company claims has striking looks with an elegant style.
