Business Insurance - Building owners urged to use "common sense"

Building owners urged to use

The AA has urged people with property outside the UK to ensure their home or business insurance is sufficient.

Ian Crowder, public relations manager for the company, has said people with holiday homes should make sure all of their contents are covered, including items often forgotten such as curtains, carpets and furniture.

His comments could be useful for people with businesses abroad as well.

Additionally, Mr Crowder said security is a factor when arranging cover.

"There will be endorsements in terms of security. If the windows are lockable you need to shut them and lock them. Common sense applies here," he said.

Companies may also benefit from cuts to their insurance policies by investing in security lights or burglar alarms.
