In the event of a breakdown, be prepared
Many motorists have experienced the inconvenience of having a vehicle break down. Being stranded on a motorway at night can be a
frightening experience, especially if you don't have a rescue policy.
While you cannot avoid breaking down you can take steps to lessen the chances of it happening and be aware of what to do.
- Regular service checks at a garage may ensure that potential problems are highlighted in advance.
- Carry out a check of tyre pressure, oil and fuel yourself before setting off on a journey.
- At the first sign of vehicle breakdown put on your hazard lights and try to stop in a safe place.
